natural dyeing with aluminium foil & pot mordant, parsley, plumbago and well, fuck it food colouring

yeah ummm, this started out so scientific, organised and pregnant with possibilities at about 9pm.

it descended into a bit of swearing at almost 11pm and ripping chunks out of the neighbours plumbago hedge [shh.. i thanked the plant and will go back tonight and tidy up the holes]

plumbago grows better when you trim it.

at 11:30 still no love so i grab the last of my food colouring mixes out of the cupboard and tipped them into the pot, threw in the braken fern dyed batt i dyed on monday and walked away.

this morning they are food colouring emerald green – they are okay but not the pretty natural green i had in my mind , to make it worse it was the laceweight corriedale and suri alpaca yarns i was saving for a madder dye but got impatient – lessson learnt.

i will by some proper mordants  this afternoon
